Cankles, and Hindu Temples, and Dating Websites! Oh My!
TESTOSTERONE UPDATE!
I hope you all love the new site as much as I do. Bookmark it! Tell your friends! Tell your Grandmama!
Sorry, I haven’t updated about my life outside of my transition. I have been super busy with school. If I were to update about my personal life the title of the post would probably be something like; “Redheads, and Avery + Caffeine = BFF, and Concerts! Oh My!” I will do my best to do an update with that title soon. There will be a rant, or as I prefer to call them a ‘charming ramble’, probably about the super annoying mass emails people send out when they missed a class and need notes.
I hope you like the videos!
If any of you have dealt with cankles due to Edema I would really appreciate tips, or advice. I would also be down for a foot massage.
Don’t feel bad if you are one of the people who hasn’t recognized me at first glance! I think it is awesome I have changed enough for that to happen. If you aren’t in the category of people who have made out with me and don’t recognize me at first glance, and you want to be we can make out so you do fit into that category!
P.S. All I want to do is make out. All the time! I didn’t think it was possible to want to make out more than I did a month ago, but it is all I want to do now. It is hard to concentrate on anything else.
Thank you for watching/reading. I will do my best to post the “Redheads, and Avery + Caffeine = BFF, and Concerts! Oh My!” update soon. I am thinking about incorporating videos into my personal life posts, because people seem to like the videos the most. That way we could take field trips together! I could record the videos at locations related to something in that post. There are so many beautiful and interesting places in Saskatoon that could provide a nice background. Instead of my telling you about a nice cafe/concert/walk/dance party I could actually show you it. Show you the city and adventures through my eyes. Let me know if you would be down for that.
Love, love, love,
Avery Eros Finley.

another way that edema is treated is with something called a vascular flush, which is basically alternating hot and cold to promote drainage from your feet. What you can do is put your feet in hot water for 3 minutes, then put them in icy water for 1 minute, and alternate hot and cold 3 times. Usually I would have you do that 2-3 times a day. It at least might make it less painful for you to walk.

You crack me up! :) I love Zelda too… Zelda and Mario games are pretty much the best video games EVER! Though lately I’ve been addicted to NHL2K10 for Wii.
I am starting to question if someone is breaking into my condo and injecting testosterone into me while I sleep. The chin hairs and thinning hair sounds all too familiar :S But no cankles thank goodness–that sucks!!
I think you are doing an awesome job putting out a positive and real image of trans people. Keep up the good work!

It’s especially annoying when people send out those notes and assume the e-mail magically generates the class they are in for the reader.
People seem not to send those out in engineering.
I also use to believe in sending my notes and thought I would maybe get notes in the future. Nope. Screw ‘em, those kids are being lazy. Just make friends with the person you sit next too. Exchange e-mails and voila! No annoying e-mails, new friend and notes if either of you are sick!

I just watched those videos.
a) I would see the doctor.
b) “I don’t want to cause a scene in a temple” is a valid want. I laughed. In first nation spiritual ceremonies(ie. sweat lodge) of the past two-spirited people often sat in the middle, as they embodied both masculine and feminime spiritual identities. Even in modern days, I know of people sitting on both sides depending on the day, their feelings, etc.
Obviously Hinduism and the First Nations World view differ so, I would go with what feels right.

Hi, Avery!
I just read your interview in “OutWords” today, and thought it was awesome. (Actually, I saw your photo and thought – “Wow, what a cute guy! I wonder what they’re interviewing HIM about?”)
It was a SUPER interview; wonderfully enlightening for me. I’m an older gay guy, I had one bi acquaintance in my life, and knew NO trans people. So, you offered me quite a lot of helpful insights.
It was really interesting for me to go back and read your blog, because my first introduction to you was in your current state of transition. When I went back and read your posts, right from the beginning, it seemed totally natural to me – because you write (and have always WRITTEN) like a guy. So it seems to me completely right that you are looking and sounding much more like who you really ARE.
(I thought a really interesting indication of that, in your blogs, was how you mentioned that you were much happier doing the chasing, than being CHASED. That’s totally a GUY thing – and, BTW, on that score (as well as a few others) you’re much more a guy than I am!)
A couple of random notes:
*Yes, your short haircut looks great, and appealingly masculine. (Fabio’s haircut doesn’t look good on ANYONE, least of all on HIM! LOL!)
*About matters surgical: I’m sorry that so many strangers took the liberty either to counsel or judge you, in this regard. I would only say that I would like to support you in your decision, because it DOESN’T matter, and I think your assessment of the relative risks and benefits is wise, based on anything I’ve ever read.
*I was really touched by your account of your Mom’s fears that you might not find love. That’s understandable, because finding love isn’t easy for ANYONE. BUT. . . you’re a goodlooking guy, handsome, charismatic, and articulate, and I feel pretty sure that there will likely be a number of people you meet who will find all that you are impossible to pass up. :-)))
*You are quite a good writer, and so I want to wish you all success in your studies – because I think you’re going places.
*About the boredom of studying English with a prof who puts everything through the filter of the Christian tradition. . . Well, he may be boring or incompetent (I don’t know). If he is, it’s a dealbreaker. If he’s not, my advice is to look on it as a joint literature and HISTORY lesson. Some version of Christianity DID inform English literature from Chaucer through to Philip Larkin, so, even if you think that’s all madness, you can learn a lot about our culture by trying to understand how and why this is so. And then draw your own conclusions, and write as you wish, in the present day.
*The history of Hinduism is quite divided, as to acceptance of people who are not in the sexual or gender ‘majority’ or mainstream. There are significant indications of tolerance both in some of the great Hindu writings, and philosophical teachings. In day-to-day practice in current temple environments, there is likely much less tolerance. However, I wouldn’t give it a second thought – just go, be with the guys, and I don’t think anyone will bat an eyelash. Because you are certainly looking and sounding very much a guy, these days.
*Last, your speech for the Transgendered Remembrance Ceremony was fine, well-wrought, and utterly moving. Thank you for it.
And thank you for sharing EVERYTHING. Great interview, great blog, great videos: most enlightening, and again, I thank you for them.
Wishing you all the best as you continue your journey, continued success at school, and, in the not-too-distant future, a great girl (or guy) just as you choose, to share a WONDERFUL LIFE.
Hugs,
“Verdi” XOXOXO
